MARCH 23RD!!!!!!!! I SHIP OUT MARCH 23RD!!!!!!! I have actually known this since monday morning, but really havent felt like posting anything. There is soo much to think about now that i have my date. I have to cancel my NETFLIX i have to cancel my gym membership, i have to set up direct deposit for bills that still need to be payed. Im still trying to figure out if i want to defer my student loans until after i get out of recruit training, or if i just want to have someone write them checks for me.
I keep getting asked the same questions, "are you scared?" "are you excited?" Well for one, im not scared, its the Navy people not he Marines! Im not going to get shot at, im going to be an electrician and wont even see my first ship for another year from now. It just shows how little most people know about our military, and how much they only watch the news and see the death reports. Excited? I guess im more anxious. I mean im not excited for getting yelled at when i fuck up, but then again i hate that nothing happens to me when i fuck up at my current job. Though i almost never fuck up. Honestly im ready for the more structured life and more discipline. I have too much free time on my hands out here in the real world, and not enough money to make it worth while. At least when im in i wont have to pay for things like rent and clothes, and my food will be cheaper. Less temptation will make saving money easier.
Now i know ill miss my friends, i only have a few here in Portland, and they are close friends. I know ill miss my family, well sooner or later ill probably start to miss them. I know ill miss talking to a very special lady for the months that i dont have internet. Atleast ill be closer to her when i get my free time back. I cant wait for then!
I guess i dont have too much more to say, for now im just making sure i have all my important info memorized so i can get yelled at less when im training. Making sure i can do as many push ups and crunches that i can and run as far as i can so im not one of those weaklings when i get there. Leaving 3 months earlier than originally planned is a blessing, but now im short on time to get ready. Im sure ill be fine.
