Johannesburg's "UFO House" up for sale...R14m / 2,024,088 USD / 987,655 GBP / 1,476,662 EUR...

In talking about the building, the engineer says: "The project commenced in 1991 & was completed in 1992. The house is based on eight columns with a ring-beam on top, keeping it in place. The very distinct aerodynamic shape with its elliptic centre dome is in stark contrast with the immediate environment. However, through a 320 view in all four wind directions over the mountain range, it establishes a balance between the fauna & flora, & the development of modern man. The main dish with its beam took 6 months to construct, after which 50 tons of reinforcing steel was placed & covered with 400m of concrete. Of the 76 windows, 40 are fitted with ventilators at the top to ensure that there is sufficient air flow. There are no windows that can open, due to the 60 angle & for security reasons. The house is not for the ordinary citizen, but it is designed for a fast-moving businessman or high-ranking official or dignitary. This property is now on the market & seeks a unique buyer!"

Many articles have been written about this remarkable piece of architecture, appearing in newspapers & magazines around the world.

During May 2002, an American TV crew took pictures for the channel "The most extreme homes of the world". This was broadcast on the 8 o' clock slot, where this home was chosen to be the best "Extreme Home of Africa".

In June 2003, LG Products utilised this house to market their products during their Africa Launch. Dignitaries from Korea, China & South Africa were present to enjoy the evening.

So, peeps, if you have a bit of spare cash lying around & fancy snapping up one of the world's coolest abodes, click here for more information wink
