Adrian Tomine is most famous for his semi-autobiographical comic book which is put out by Drawn & Quarterly. But over the years he has done a lot of commercial work such as portraits and magazines strips and also the movie poster for Bob Odenkirks directorial debut Melvin Goes to Dinner...

Good timing.... Lately, 32 Stories has been getting some serious play in my bathroom. I think it's time to retire it to the bookshelf and pick up Scrapbook.

I love "Summer Blonde" and "Optic Nerve".

met Adrian Tomine earlier this summer. Very honest speaker, intelligent and no pretensions. Great graphic stories straight up. Also much more light hearted in person than you would imagine from his books. Amazing and talented. I can't say enough about this guy! biggrin
roby:

katharine:

mefistofeles:
Optic Nerve is hands down one of the best American comic books I have ever followed.

I've been dying to read Tomine's works. He's from my home area! What do people reccommend I start with?
