I've had cataract surgery in each eye, 14 years ago, and retinal deattachments in both eyes in 1998. And in all cases my vision has been restored. I've lost a little peripheral vision, but not enough to affect my vision or driving. Still wear eye glasses to drive, but don't need any correction to read. I'll be 60 years old this year.
