Just got home from playing a show at the Great American Music Hall in San Francisco. What a ride. What a heat wave. It was a bill full of great bands, it sucks that the room was pretty empty for some of them.
Honestly, the support of the citizens of San Francisco and it's surrounding regions for our local music scene sucks. Supremely.
If you're not a nationally known act with a top 10 hit, don't expect a full room in SF. We do well, but it's due in large part to the fact that the members of our band are all very social people. It still gets old playing to 50-100 of your closest friends every outing.

re: your other journal post. i read it (ummm...a couple times... ) did u get through the book? it reminded me that i could perhaps use the insanity plea to get out of my next job in guam. haha... speaking of guam and the airforce, did i mention that last time i went there we got passes to the base? the first time we went, i drove right through the security checkpoint w/o stopping. didn't go over well at all. i had blonde hair at the time. it came in handy. i'm sure if i did that today, i'd be dead.
