Inquiries into your credit aren't ordinarily kept on your credit report for more than 30 days, and it cannot be counted against your qualifying score. It is an unfair hit to take as far as a point aspect, and most people reviewing credit will see it for exactly what it was. A single inquiry isn't that big of a deal to creditors. The red flag is when they see 5-10 inquiries, which tells them you are shopping out for credit and might be in a financially unstable situation.
