Last night I watched part of SuicideGirls must die.
This is a negative review, so if you don't want to read negativity, stop reading.
I am glad this DVD was a bonus with my SG subscription and not something I purchased. I turned it off because I could not stand it anymore. No disrespect intended to the girls, but the film portrayed a very ghetto atmosphere.
They are on a bus and some have to pee so the bus pulls over and several pee outside in plain view. A local sees it and complains and they give her lip for doing so, and when the local calls them "Tattoo'd Whores" they lift their hands in victory as if that is something to be proud of.
Then they are passing alcohol around the bus, an open container, which may have been a contributing factor both to the need to pee and the disgusting behavior, when a cop pulls them over, for the peeing incident.
One of them gives the cop a bunch of lips and crap. WTF? Had you not been so damned disrespectful and peed out in public like that, the cop wouldn't be there.
A family member of mine has bladder problems. If she doesn't pee when she has to go, there is leakage and it ends up becoming a bladder infection unless she takes care of it right away. On occasion she has had to pee by the side of the road but she never ever does so in plain view and she tries to avoid the situation by taking every bathroom opportunity she has and tries avoiding consumption of beverages that will make her need to pee (such as alcohol) when on a trip.
But what the SG girls in the film were portrayed as doing was a completely different thing all together. It was just plain low class ghetto.
I get that SG is counter culture alternative lifestyle, that's why I first liked SG way back a decade ago or so. But when the hell did alternative lifestyle / counter culture become acting like a bunch of spoiled ghetto brats?
First photography shoot, the model was being a complete bitch in not wanting to pose the way the photographer wanted to shoot the shot. At that point I turned it off, I lost all interest in the film.
Now I get that later in the movie, something happens to make it a horror flick, and maybe the local or the trooper are involved in the plot line that way and the things I described were staged events and didn't really happen, but still, why the hell portray the suicide girls as a group of people completely lacking in any class or respect for others?
I won't be buying any more SG films.
