I used to think phrases like “I love the sound of children’s laughter” were pretentious and insincere. Come on, of all the amazing things in the world you pick the kiddie smiles? Everyone’s smiling and laughing every day, kids aren’t that special!
But here, at this cancer rehabilitation camp, I learned to value every single smile, especially if I’m the one who put it on the kid’s face. Words can’t describe the joy of it.
I never thought that someone like me, heavily tattooed and with all that alternative type, could do something like that. But here I am, at this wonderful place.
If someone showed me a post like this just two weeks ago, I’d have scoffed and said, “you and your children smiles again, can’t you grow up?”
