Thats amazing love! Super proud of you both! Y'all are one step ahead of me there.. i picked up my bad habit again but knowing you 2 can do it are are trying give me strength that i can do it. Again so proud of yall xxx
Girl I know the struggle! I quit at Christmas and haven't looked back. I'm so so so much happier! My biggest hurdle was trying to figure out what to do while idle. I always need something to do with my hands and whatnot. I tried getting into hobbies that occupy my hands and brain so I don't have the time to think about smoking. I would also chew gum and eat carrot sticks a lot lol. They're not calorie dense but they satiated my oral fixation. Nicotine takes 5 days to leave your system so after that you're really just craving the habit not the chemical. So for example if you smoked when stressed find a different go to for when you feel stressed (exercise, bath, video games, etc) so eventually when you're stressed your brain will tell you to do the new habit instead of smoke. Hope that helps! Sorry this is long
While I am not a former smoker, I do have something I can relay from friends who are: focus on the positive result/intention. That means instead of saying "I won't smoke today" say something like "Today I am creating ____". Or with what you said in your post about "not falling back into old habits" focus on "I am making new healthy habits today." Hope that helps!
I really can’t quite express enough how much it has meant to me to read through all your comments, wether they have been words of advice or congratulations. Reading through them all has cemented that fact that I’m so determined to beat this habit. Love to you all ❤️❤️❤️
