I lived in Calgary for 20 years, but I wouldn't say it has too much going for it over any other major city, however, most major cities are fun to visit for vacation. Calgary has a lot of tourism things. Of course, if you're thinking coastal, well, watch the upcoming Olympics for a look at the area. That's where I'd go.
