Saturday ended up being the perfect day to be in Detroit, if you ask me. We spent hours in John King, introducing two new friends to it's yellow-paged majesty, one of which exclaimed "It smells like knowledge!" when we walked in the door.

There should just be a straight up hoodie shop somewhere around here, selling nothing but our zipper-fronted friends and their marsupial pocketed kin. Although, finding ways to "stay warm" in Michigan can involved quite a bit of, uh, creativity sometimes.
here's the process, that i did by myself in my bathroom, for a mere 6 hours:
1. STRIP. (hair color, not clothes) end result: ugly brassy orange glowing hair.
2. BLEACH. end result: ugly brassy yellow glowing hair.
3. BLEACH AGAIN. end result: above, plus breakage and frizzy fried ends.
4. COLOR. i used special effects brand, blood red color. i've only been able to find it at hot topic.
i was trying to go from black to platinum, but obviously, this didn't work and i gave up and dyed it red.

I should add I'm moving closer to the city--oddly enough to your neck-of-the-woods. I grew up in the country. It wasn't anything special. Just mud, cowshit, and the occasional bit of fauna splattered all over the highway.
