On Tuesday I fly to Istanbul to join one of our ships which is currently in dry dock to take over the galley for a transit to Venice, it will be a week or two at the most and then I don't know whether I'll return to my current ship or stay on for the upcoming campaign in Africa somewhere. It will do...

I met a girl a month before I left on my first campaign to the Gulf of Mexico, to research the effects of the Deepwater Horizon blowout on the Apex predator of the Gulf, the Sperm Whale. We stayed in contact daily over the course of the five-month campaign, even sexting and sending each other naked pics. The month we spent together was crazy, the...

The most stupid and most true quote I've ever heard is "one day someone will walk into your life and you'll realise why it's never worked with anyone else." You simply can't force it.

I really enjoyed reading your story. Thank you for sharing such personal details. Life can be difficult especially when it comes to making decisions regarding relationships, love in general and work. I've been in a long distance relationship for more then a year and it didn't work out after all. You have amazing job and get to see the world. It must be hard working 7 days a week, but that's the price you're paying for the privilege of travelling. Don't feel bad about yourself. As long as you're being honest with girls no harm done.

Just as I'm preparing myself to take a break from Sea Shepherd and try earn some money, I got asked to do the campaign to the Faroe Islands to stop the slaughter of Pilot Whales, as chief cook on one of our vessels.

So I look to be at sea for at least six weeks, but as with everything it could be much longer...

Six months ago I yet again set sail with Sea Shepherd, this time to protect Antarctic waters from illegal fishing and poaching of Patagonian/Antarctic Toothfish aka Chilean Seabass.

So after leaving Wellington at the beginning of December, I have sailed four oceans, from the ice of Antarctica to the searing heat of the equator off the coast of West Africa, almost 20000 nautical miles...

Thursday was quite a freaky day, I was at work going about my business when an email I had been waiting for since January arrived.

A few weeks ago I got some bad news, an email from crew operations of Sea Shepherd Australia sent me a mail saying I was surplus to requirements, this left me rather out of sorts as I was assured I...

I've started a GoFundMe to get the ball rolling on raising some funds for while I'm away on my adventure with Sea Shepherd. It's something really foreign to me but decided to go ahead with it under the advice of others who had started similar projects.

Went to a funeral on Friday, an old school friend and work colleague decided to...

Really frustrated with my family right now, I've not made any request with regards to food, it's not like I'm very demanding, but to not even bother offering me any food whatsoever is just the icing on the cake, because they don't know what I will eat, I mean wtf, I just don't eat animal products, how fucking difficult is...

"I want a woman who can sit me down, shut me up, tell me ten things I don’t already know, and make me laugh. I don’t care what you look like, just turn me on. And if you can do that, I will follow you on bloody stumps through the snow. I will nibble your mukluks with my own teeth. I will do...
