So much to say that it is not even worth going into all of it at this point. Ups and downs, ups and downs. Less than a month untIl I get my Bar results and I already have about 8 people queuing up to hire me for small IP related jobs. Seriously considering forming an LLC once I pass and going solo, although that is...

Hi. I would like to be invited to the group "people with disabilities". My application is pending. I am blind, so I think it is a disability... I'm from Brazil, and I use the 'Virtual Vision' to talk to people using the computer. Thank you the opportunity, friend. And sorry for my poor english. I am studying...

Hey all, I need recommendations for "point-and-shoot" cameras. The balance is lightweight vs. good quality. I used to shoot with a Sony Steady-Shot (TM) until it was stolen in a burglary. I was pretty happy with that except for the limited optical zoom. Any suggestions?

24 hours ago, I would have said he was giving up prematurely. But after hearing more details today, I think he's just being realistic. The doctors are trying everything they can, but if the kidneys fail, they can't do chemo een if he did go on dialysis, and if they can't do chemo, well you know.

Thanks for your thoughts.

Well, that was a lame-ass post. Sorry to have left it up for so long.

Good news: I've picked up one, very small, legal type job which should help cover some of the costs my lifestyle is incurring these days. I am also poised to send off my resume for a non-paying gig. I know, no money is lame, but it would give me great...

Internet Protocols! How cool!

JK.

Were you in LA, I could recommend a seriously good attorney/mediator who specializes in entertainment law, heavy on intellectual property and negotiation. My cousin interned with him. Did well.

I'm a little pissed* at the moment. That's to be expected after a beer and two vodka lemonades considering I only weigh in at 40lb when severely wet. We'll see if the comments still feel fitting in the morning. I am for the first time in a long time finding this site a little disappointing. It's not the usual complaint directed at the administration, but...

Lessee, you can punctuate while pissed, and that puts you way ahead of the curve. And you can hold your liquor because though I weigh five times as much, that lineup would have me stupefied. Good thing I don't drink.

As for SGs, well, there are so many, so little time, and my expectations are so low that I'm rarely disappointed. On the other hand, there are some remarkable and very real SGs I've come across who give as good as they get. They've got brains, talent, and personality, and they've become genuine friends. I'll PM you introductions in the next day or two to those who I don't see on your friends list. Not that I get around that much, but I've been lucky here.

I know whose head is going to hurt come Tuesday morning.

Hmmmm...... I'm here for the compny of souls. Like minds.

Sort of, kind of, requested by an old friend/member that I post this here:

Repost at your leisure.
takfuji:
Holy cow, she's too good in the role -- freaked me out. Tip: Do not send link home to the folks without preamble.

Awesome poster. Wonder how she's adjusting to life without her left hand? Humm...assuming she lived.

And if you're lurking, it's nice to see you alive, well, and tortured. (I shudder to imagine how you prepared for the role.)

Thanks for the post, dXm.

Re: The Trip. When I need to work on my French, I overdose on movies and French radio. The trick is to start thinking in the language as much as possible. Dream in it and you're ace. And after a few weeks of that, I hire a native speaking tutor -- usually a student from the U -- to help with conversational skills. That doesn't have to be a language dungeon...unless you want it to be.

And if you write, there's the title for your next novel: My Mother's Paris. Oh criminey could you make it funny.

Que t'as de la chance! (Espece que...je n'ose dirai pas quoi.)

You once posted a pic of Yo Mama and she seems very hip, and this cements that impression.

Still...

Do you follow any SG Paris members? As you may know, the French naturally have a vibrant SG scene, so much so that AnnaLee went over to shoot her latest set. The inimitable and very talented Dwam seems to be at the epicenter; she could show you the not-your-mother's Paris. Bring home at least one disease or you're not doing it right.

Yes, and indulge all the other cliches, because they're mostly true and not to me missed. Paris is the only city to whom I've written poetry.

When do you fly out?

Bon chance!
kay:
Have an awesome trip! smile

Wow, that was an old post. Not much to say at the moment except for the observation that life these days has been pleasantly life-like.

I'm doing a minor remodel/furniture shuffle in my room over the next couple of days. I'm stoked. Organizing makes me very happy.

if it makes you feel any better, i hate most portland cyclists, and, given their behavior, i wouldn't feel any remorse in hitting one with my car.

next time i come to SF, i will let you know early. because i have wanted to meet you for a long, long time.

Let out your inner OCD.

Here's the litmus test: Is there a mechanical label maker involved?

Let me first start off by saying to all of you hailing from LA area. I hope you are all surviving the madness down there fire wise. My thoughts are with you.

For those of you playing along at home, you may remember that yesterday I was scheduled to go to the last day of Outside Lands Music festival in SF thanks to a birthday...

Ugh I hate that mixed message thing. I've found myself doing it to people and it feels awful from both ends. I'm sorry.

Also, why aren't we friends?

I really ought to post a new, informative, blog now that I have wrapped up the Bar. The only thing I can come up with at the moment is my own "to do" list. So instead, I leave you with a question: Every summer has a beer theme, mine is oddly turning out to be a Full Sail Amber / Red Stripe Summer.

What is...

Um, that should have been "tea-totalling." I'm losing my mind.

For your sake I liked the Amber double entendre. Speaking of which....

I visit my folks the other evening. We're chatting in the sitting room, and mom's telling a story:

Mom: "...but she was is the john and so unavailable."
(Pause)
Dad: "Maybe we should call it something else."
Mom: "What?"
Me: "I'm easy about it because, after all, I didn't name myself; so we can decide which john is John and I'll roll with your preference."
Mom: "Oh."
