Oh I am excited!
I got Throbbing Gristle tix for the San Francisco show...fin de siecle! I was at the last one in 1981, it should be amazing to see the TG crew live once more. When they did the show at Camber Shores a couple of years ago, I held my breath, fearing that they'd aged out and lost the threads they'd...

The months, they fly by.

So I think I need to quit my job. In fact, I'm pretty sure. In fact I know, but I can't yet admit it. I'm getting worn out, and don't believe so much in the work I'm doing, or the place I'm doing it, anymore. The money is good, the benes are good, but the moral decay and ineptitude... I...

Tonight, 8-10 pacific time, tune in to Neighborhood Bass Coalition on Shirley and Spinoza Radio, at Compound-Eye. Lots of noizy dub beat madness and other stuff... if you like your sounds ecclectic, check it out.

In other news, I'm flying to Portland tomorrow to see Mom and assorted family. Whoop!

Happy Egg Day! bok

The following is from emails exchanged this week with my bestest oldest friend. First comes her piece:

This is an Easter greeting from my manic mind on cold-medicine...

The best Easter I had is when I lived with C in the Red House and we did the mudslide and tang-martinis in those plastic eggs and all the fags had baskets with ice...

OK, welcome to Monday.
I've realized I gave the IRS the wrong bank account number to deposit my refund check into. Yep. Looks like a long haul ahead of me to get my hands on that refund. Bah! I hate it when the dumb stuff is my own fault!
In other news, the clematis is blooming, as well as the iceland poppies and one of...

Hey new friend,
Glad you added me to yer list. I love finding music I forgot (or never knew) I had. I'm the worst at organizing that stuff...I don't even try. For me its usually on my puter or ipod nowadays. I used to play drums in some bands that did a lot of electronic pre programmed kinda high techy stuff. ah the good old days. whatever Are you really into gardening?

Thanks for your comment! I collected some postcards for a while too, of 19th century insane asylums. Strange, I know, but at the time I was interested in mental illness and its treatment in the 19th century. Each of the many institutions run by each of the states put out their own postcard with a view of the institution and its grounds. I have about 15 or so.

As far as "not everyone on my walls is a family member" goes, I'm afraid I'm guilty of showing old photos to friends sometimes and making up wild stories to go with them. "Oh, that was my great-uncle Frank, he embezzled money from the bank he worked at and ran off to Peru with a stripper named Dottie." (I'm cursed with an overactive imagination.)

Yup, I've been gone a while. And yup. Now I'm here again. Whaddayaknow?

Some random news:

My thrift store of choice now sells LPs for 29 cents. Yeah. Last trip, I found a Chris and Cosey record, Martin Denny's Quiet Village, a Henry Mancini disc, and an LP of some southern Baptist minister preaching and ranting, good stuff! All clean and crisp.

All the daffodils...

no milk for the coffee, but I spose I'll live.
It's finally over, this school year/work year. I wonder if I'll go back in the fall? I really should... but I dont wanna! Gods, I do not want to. So maybe it really is time to find a new way to live.

BBQ last weekend rocked. I did skewers of pork with apple...

All the daffodils have bloomed, as well as the fresias and forget-me-nots. The crazy geranium maderensis is starting to bloom too. If I ever figure out how to upload pix, I'll post one.

I have a new spider, her name is Daisy. She's very friendly, and likes to bask under her heat lamp.

I'm going to see The Orb tonight, whoop! I love their new album, I was confused as heck when it was on Kompact, but hey, it's techno-y Orb, and I do like my techno.

Upcoming shows to look forward to are Matthew Dear doing his Audion thing, and two nights of Nurse with Wound. Two nights! I hear both nights are to be different shows, one of them hiphop. I can't wait to hear what Mr. Stapleton does with hiphop. There's also going to be a FabMab reunion show in April with the Mutants, the DK, the Avengers and Flipper. Gods. The real question is: who is going to man the bands... *laughs* I can only imagine Jello won't be part of this DK, and who knows who Flipper will be. I saw the Mutants over the winter, and they rocked it, as always, only missing Sally, They were always a lot of fun.

Also, the bf and will be doing a live and streaming radio show with Neighborhood Bass Coalition. April 23rd. I'll post the link again then, but listen to Shirley and Spinoza for noizy fun aplenty.

Blab blab. I still have words.

ARRR!!!
