good morning to you too! thank you very much for the hummingbird food. that was a very thoughtful gift. i already mixed some up and put it in my feeder.
i received your email!! forced "social rules" are becoming less and less pervasive but for the most part they make interactions somewhat counterfeit. such as following standards of appearance, and grooming which have no bearing on the quality of work you can do, but your work is judged because of your hair, the way you dress, how tall or skinny or fat you are, etc. also, american society is especially "age-ist"...being young should not be equate with shallowness and dim-wittedness. and increased age does not always equate with greater wisdom (although it could). i hate that social conduct calls for being nice to people you dont respect and dont want to be nice too. courtesy tends to be fraudulent and both sides of every party know this, but all still abide by the fakeness just to uphold the facade of civility. when others are mean and nasty, you are expected to take the high road and not succumb to retaliation. it would be remarkable if people actually did what they desired rather than following the orders of what others want done. things would be better if people said what they actually thought instead of saying what they ought. the engine is run not by the necessity for progress, but by a desire to circumvent guilt and avoid confrontation.
hey! I'm alive...i know you've emailed me but i havent actually read any emails for a little over a month now...i'm sorry, i just havent been feeling like touching my computer...i read a really good book tho, it was Odd Thomas by Dean Koontz, one of my favorite authors by the way, the ending sort of pissed me off but i t was nice to actually read something for a change...i think i'm going to attack this clive barker book i've had forever.
Only one member older than you? Nah, go look at the geezer groups member list. Unless you are indeed 91. If that's the case just breathe in & out & try not to get too excited about anything. Yes, Stevie Nicks indeed. Personally, I prefer Deborah Harry, but I'd buy Stevie a cup of tea any day.
