I am thinking of the Beerlight stuff in particular. It has a lot of the usual cyberpunk motifs, smart guns, VR, crime, etc. Although I agree that it would be misleading to label him as any particular genre writer. As I said before, this is probably a good thing. Feeding off different genres without falling into any of their cliches.
I find it interesting that even though cyberpunk was such a pastiche of genres and inventive in so many ways it quickly became a tired convention and generic genre itself.
Although I think that recently it is beginning to pick up again a bit and these barriers are giving way to experimentation.
