Let's see if we can revive this discussion @lioncourt @shalil @loka @ayaska

Besides the great clip above... what has helped you reach, progress towards, or maintain your fitness goals?

This year two things have really helped me progress. First is my electric pushmower. It is not self propelled so all the work is me. I like to track my distance with my garmin watch. My front yard gets me about 1.5 miles in just shy of 30min. My backyard takes 1-2hrs depending on how consistently I cut it and I get closer to 2.5 miles. Second is my yoga instructor and accountability buddy. Kind of a weird story on how we linked up but we have two virtual sessions per week and she's great at tailoring our sessions around my workouts, yoga progress, and injury recovery. Honorable mention to my food scale, although I still eat pretty much whatever I want.

Number one thing that helps with motivation/consistency for me is having goals. A race, an event, a backpacking trip…anything, as long as it’s on the calendar and I’m committed. There’s a low level routine for maintaining fitness levels I can generally keep up without thinking about it too hard, but when I want actual demonstrable progress, I need a concrete goal. Then discipline can take over on days when motivation wanes a bit, since I have something I care about and want to achieve long term vs maybe feeling lazy on a particular afternoon.

My motivation is seeing my strength grow. Every time I can increase the weight I'm lifting it makes me so happy! Seeing the changes in my body and what it's capable of make me feel very fulfilled. It also motivates me to have a gym partner to go with me. We keep each other accountable.

@g_vader trap bars are the best!! Part of my Saturday workout.

g_vader:

@kmink I really enjoy them too, though they aren’t on my work out rotation this schedule. Just happened to be where I was standing :)

Been going since beginning of year. Trying to hit goals of what I looked like about a year ago. This app has been the best for counting my calories. I believe I’m down about 5-7 pounds.

Going to the gym is so much more than the aesthetical part! Is also about health of the body and of the mind!

Going to the gym every day help me not to freak out kkkkkk It is a moment that I can relax and take care of me 🖤

I don't go to a gym. I work out at home. One of my New Year's Goals is to do some type of work out every day. I've written our white board our fitness schedule and so far I have stuck to it:

stralis4:

Don't warm your bathroom and then you MUST do some gym to go for your shower (and you better do some more time to dry)

aquarian:

Man I need to get back training. I’ve been lazy since being sick over Christmas. 😣

roxylove:

Own reflection - that's the motivation 💪🏼
