Sorry to hear that...I know latex is very difficult to sew, that fact that you used to make your own is something to be proud of. I just really really like it 😁

@johnny_longhair You don't sew latex. This is legit rubber sheeting. You have to use glues and solvents. I've made my own in the past, but left my kit at my mom's out East when I moved to CO, and you can't fly with it on planes or ship it without a special license because they're caustic chemicals that are extremely flammable. Like, you can't even use this kind of glue indoors, unless you have a well-ventilated room because the fumes could cause you to pass out and possibly dye. I know Canadians use the term "latex" for PVC, which is a shiny, stretchy material, not rubber like the term is used in the US. One of my seamstresses is from Canada too, and she was calling one of the costumes she made for me "latex", and I was confused because it wasn't rubber. This stuff is like a literal rubber glove or a condom, just thicker. Ironically, to get into really tight latex, one is supposed to use the same lube they'd rub on a condom, it also helps keep it shiny. So literally, I carry a bottle of lube around comic conventions with me! Haha!
