Time to take down that depressing prior post. I'm not sure things are all that much better, but we're talking and trying to figure stuff out, so that's a positive.

Baseball seaon's here... Go Yankees!

Bought a new stackable washer/dryer. My old one broke (the washer) over a year ago, but it took awhile to save up for it, and I grew to like going...

Sometimes I wish life came with a true owner's manual... one with an extensive section on solving problems. So often it seems I don't know what to do, and while I'm talking to a professional once a week in an effort to try to help, I'm just not sure about so many things. Work is OK, but even that's got me stressed at times (not...

Thank you so much for the welcome back.

I actually got a job doing the same thing you do. It's very stressful (for me at least). Hopefully things are different outside of the university setting.

Hope things start looking up soon for you.

I listen to this when I'm so tired of feeling blue. It really does help. Such a simple little song and yet it makes all the complexities of the world seem so distant.

p.s.- please tell me you watched the series finale of the shield.

It's the spring ... time for new life and growth and all that good stuff. New starts....y'know?!

Can I tell you that I like toast instead?

I've come to realize that I'm not the biggest fan of spring. Not that it's terrible, but I hate the temperature fluctuations... 50's/60's one day, 30's/40's the next. Granted, we're not technically in spring yet but after this weekend's warm snap, I loath going back down to the 40's. whatever

Been a while since my last post. Life is OK. Work has it's usual ups and...

I'd love to see a 95+ win season but I just don't have much faith in Girardi. I seriously think he looks as lost as George Bush sometimes. Swish will do just fine over at 3rd until A-Hole gets back from his boo boo. IF we can stay healthy and team chemistry stays up this team can will do fine. I just really don't see that big drive in Girardi though. Leaving spring training to drink beer and shoot pool doesn't constitute good management skills in my book but then again who knows...

I haven't worked in a while. I'm focusing more on local places in my job search. I might be better off with part time work for starters in order to ease back into the swing of things . My financial situation will ease up in about five months. I'm trying to manage until then. Right now, it's touch and go, unfortunately.

Is it too late to wish everyone a Happy New Year? smile

Well, I've been a naughty SGer by neglecting the site in recent weeks. Been swamped. Things are going a bit better with the gf; we're arguing less (actually not arguing at all) and laughing more, which is great.

The Inauguration was, of course, a great thrill, but now we're sitting on a new stimulus...

we don't really have room either...my bf and i live in a small 1 bedroom apt...i think since we have so little space we have no compunction about having 3 bikes, freeweights and a stationary bike in the livingroom (next to the table heh). it is sort of a pain to carry my bike up 2 flights of stairs tho.

i only recently got into my bike again tho...feel kind of like a kid riding around on it.

so hi...randomly there was a free membership for sg sitting in my email...if this was you, thanks...yeah, republicans never seem to change, and it's always a bad idea for them, no matter what it is...happy birthday, I'm sure you're still incredibly dreamy...

Wow, my last post was December 5... Sorry about that. Hope everyone is having a Happy Holiday Season. I've been busy with work and getting into arguments with my significant other about big things and little things. Tis the season, I guess. Ugh. Anyway, thanks for the holiday wishes, everyone, I appreciate it. wink

The latest jobs report came out today and it revealed the staggering figure that 533,000 jobs were lost in November. I'm beyond being angry at the Bush administration and the Republicans who between '94 and '06 helped to gut regulations and drive us into this mess, because frankly, I'm sure there were a lot of Democrats who helped grease the skids. I'm just growing scared....

I have often wondered what could be accomplished in this country if we were not tied to this absurd "Dems build it up then Repubs tear it down" cycle. When this country gets back onto its feet, slightly more than half of the voting public will forget how inept the Repubs are at government and be swayed by promises of free markets and whatnot; and things will fall apart again.

Isn't it funny the way some people are mad that Obama isn't already acting as President? surreal

Can I be burned out and excited about it at the same time? I can't wait for the mailings and phone calls to be over, but I'm really looking forward to actually voting (for Obama, again.) My mom and I usually go to the polls together, and this year I'm hoping to take my sister as well--it'll be her first presidential election (my second.)
wsoxfan:
I'm so grateful that this country can finally start the long road back from the damage done to it over the last eight years. Obama's task is daunting. I don't envy him. I do feel that he will select the best people to help him lead us out of this mess.

Hmmm I guess she's ok .....

Yeah def. still doing the whole jewelry deal, it's been fantastic. I'm gradually becoming more of a tree hugger everyday, most of my materials are all natural, working with a lot of wood and I'm spinning my own llama yarn now .... It's crazy!!! So what are you gonna be for Halloween? ARRR!!!

I vascillate between joy and fear, yet I can't see how they have enough antics to steal this one -- we've got too many on our side this time. smile

p.s. you know she said she might vote for OBAMA in an early AUgust interview, right?

I'm almost exclusively into r&b and hip-hop. Yes, hip-hop at 61 years of age.

Pardon my ignorance, but what's the name of the song and who's performing it? I enjoyed the video.
wsoxfan:
Thanks for the info. I'm not all that familiar with the Deftones. There are people I know who are really into them. I'm definitely planning to check them out now that I heard a sampling of their music.

Did you see the speech he gave at the Alfred Smith dinner? Loved It!
I just wish I were in a place where my vote mattered more. I mean, Chicago is Obama-rama- ville.

AL!!!!!! can you tell I've missed you! uhhh yeah I know there were the few myspace comments we had going there but I truly hate that place. Not a place for friends no no no a place for people to nag me about not being on my top friends list. ANYWAYS! whats new with you? Did you have fun at the wedding? smile
