Anna Pacquin looks great, as do some of the other stars in HBO's "True Blood," but for the life of me I don't get the show's appeal. I watched a fair amount of it this season, and I've seen some of the press coverage about it, but I never could get into it. Maybe it hurt that I didn't really see the first season, I...

I can't say that i've watched either show. I cancelled HBO recently to save a few bucks. I had to do it since I wasn't about to do without the baseball package this summer.

Anna Paquin does look great. it seems like yesterday when she was just a child.

This country is going to hell quickly.

Thanks for the heads-up. I eliminated RI from consideration for other reasons already.

In light of my last post honoring the late Sen. Ted Kennedy, I'll ask this question: Do you think we'll see the President sign a health care reform bill this year? Or more specifically, do you think we'll see the President sign a good, truly reformative health care bill this year? I'm all for health care reform, but I want something good that really addresses...

I have my doubts. I'm worried.

We need this, but it just doesn't seem to matter in the end. Bullshit just keeps getting fed to people, and in the end it just becomes a political crap fest.

wsoxfan:
I missed this blog until now or I would have commented sooner. I was in the hospital for two days last week.

I can't believe the lies and scare tactics about health care reform that the average, uninformed citizen is falling for. I'm afraid that whatever, if anything is done will be window dressing, not truly needed change. The special interests and their political allies have shown that they'll stop at nothing to keep the status quo.

I'd like to know why a system that's good enough for the rest of the civilized world is anathema to so many here. We supposedly voted for change. The election of a Black president, something I never thought would happen in my lifetime, demonstrated how fed up this country was with what was going on during the Bush administration. Now that we've elected him, we're resisting most of the things he wants to implement. Plus, he's become a lightening rod for all the haters out there that are bent on destroying Obama's presidency and Obama himself.

My "bottom line" prediction is that nothing meaningful will get done on health care or much else. Americans will experience more of the same and will continue to complain about the fact that nothing has cchanged. Sounds crazy, but that seems to be the nature of the beast.

On a personal note, I hope all is well in your life.

p.s. I'd love to get some info about the area you live in based on the criteria I mention in my current blog. I suspect that CT may be beyond my means, but i'd appreciate your input regardless.

I agree 100%. Unfortunately, those who hated him for his liberal views, his name and his stature have worked tirelessly to demonize him by bringing up the Mary Jo Kopechne tragedy every chance they get. Even now that he's gone, those elements will never allow that episode to be forgotten or forgiven.

Thank you for the birthday wishes. It means a lot to me.

I'm curious, can someone explain all this current fascination with vampires? I mean, everywhere you turn there's a new show or movie or book about them. I get the whole goth thing from a fashion standpoint, but beyond that what's the big deal? And why now? The rotten economy has people secretly wishing they were undead? Someone help a brother out and explain it to...

Saying that you're not sure if you want your relationship to be salvaged speaks volumes. I hope you will come out of this being true to yourself regardless of the result.

_margot_:
I hate vampires. I really do not care.

Also, thank you for the compliment. ♥

Holy crap! I haven't updated in about 7 weeks or so. Ouch. Sorry, Homies. Just watched the Yankees SWEEP the Red Sox... nice! Still working hard; summer's been kind of a yawner (how much fucking rain have we had?); hanging in there with my gal... just kind of chillin', you know?

One thing that has me really disturbed is the decent in the level of...

It's been a while since my last post about moving in with my gf, so I thought I'd update everyone. It hasn't happened yet, but will at some point in the near future (or at least by the fall). There's no single reason for the holdup, instead there are a few, such as nearly breaking up before it all happened. LOL Fortunately, we survived that...

Looks like I'm moving in with my gf. 850-sq-ft one-bedroom with her dog. Probably renting out my place (which is smaller, hence me moving in with her and not the other way around).

Slightly mixed feelings about it. But, I want it to work, and so does she. Wish me luck; I'll keep you posted. wink

May 29: Oops, already hit an unforeseen hurdle... might be...

I'm so out of the loop music-wise these days. That's so out of character for me.

I never heard this song until now. It's not the usual style of music that I listen to, (I like mostly R&B and Hip-Hop, believe it or not). This is actually a great song. Thanks for sharing.
wsoxfan:
Alot of people really like the Deftones. Lyrical used to play their stuff alot. I liked their music. Although in all honesty, I'm not sure if it was the group I liked or what I really liked was listening to their music with her.

Warning: cranky 45-year-old... can someone please explain to me the point of Twitter? I mean shit, I'm barely understanding Facebook, and now I'm supposed to start sending out "tweats," too? I mean, I can understand the general communications aspects of it, I guess, but do I really need to open an account and follow people and tweat and all that stuff all day? Ugh.

Crazy...

Speaking of sex. I just joined the Dirty, Filthy, Smutty group, or whatever the name is. I just finished posting the first chapter of a story that I've been wanting to wriite. I'm mentioning it because I know you have some interest in the BDSM lifestyle. I'll probably post the other two chapters later and tomorrow. I'd be honored if you were to check it out.
