Happy Thanksgiving!
What are YOU thankful for?
I am thankful for my family, as crazy as they are...
I am extremely thankful to have been raised by left-wing lunatics who instilled good values in me, and taught me to love and accept all other people, to question the institutions and our leaders so as never to blindly follow the masses, to not become reliant on the television, to read the ingredients on food and eat my vegetables, to value family and friendship, to respect the people we care about, to show affection, to share and share alike, to pay mind to cultural traditions, to believe in fate, to know that love doesn't hurt, to hang art on the walls to make the ugliest spaces into our personal palaces, to eat spicy food, to understand the power of being a woman, to take care of other people and to never expect anything in return, to understand that money isn't all important.
Also thankful for...
My cat <3, having raised her from kittendom and she's still the most affectionate lovebug
My wicked solid friendships with some great people
The enormous amount of freedom we have here (sure, we can find a thousand things to bitch about but seriously? We have it fucking good)
Motorhead
Pumpkin cheesecake (I was just thinking of this last night ......... yummmmmmmmm)
Pugliese wine (on the rare occasion I find it here)
Despite all my minor maladies, I am thankful for my general health
I am thankful to be free of many toxic relationships
I am very thankful to have survived all the shit I've been through and put myself through; sometimes I complain and rehash the past but there's really no need- I'm free and happy!!!
I am thankful for the great people in my life and the great people I will know in the future-- for good music and good food -- for living without religion -- for people that acknowledge hardwork -- for tea -- heaters -- eyelash curlers -- teasing combs -- iPhones -- trustworthy friends -- good laughs -- and well... pretty much everything else under the sun.
