I'm beginning to feel ancient.

My reading well is running dry. I just finished the new collected works of Ted Hughes. The lover of the greatest, I wonder how his head works, at any rate it's lovely.

I return to school on Monday. I transferred, changed my major (again) and now I start anew. Not that any of you were aware of the fact that...

I have some good reads in mind... I know, pistachio muffins are horrid puke puke puke puke

I never could get into Ted Hughes...the pieces I've read were too formal and stuffy for me (and for some reason reminded me of Tennyson, who I also have never been able to warm up to.

Try Frank O'Hara if you haven't already...of course being a teeny branch of the NY School of poets, he's the big GODFATHER for me.

Some of his poems are soooo good they make my eyes well up...

And some just make me laugh...

I can't believe what I am hearing about this hurricane disaster. I wish I were closer to help. Sick people, and starving children, babies lost from their mothers and nearly no one there to help them. I hope the news stops pulling the irrelevant race card, and some adequate help is sent to those people. I hope that the 10.5 billion goes to help those...

I hear you ... I wish I was closer, too. I have avoided posting about this because anything I could say would be woefully inadequate at this point. My heart goes out to all those people.

My above post looks so callous now. shocked

No worries- I've given some $ to the good stiles on his relief mission to N.O.

Yeah, Bush ran to give help to the oil companies. NO WELFARE, right? yeah, except for the oil companies.

My trip was amazing, wonderful, and all things great. My original goal was to find family, and blood or not I found that. One of the guys I met "Justin" took me under his wing so to speak and showed me around the rez, told me the history of my people, he was just great. Then on my last night there we drove 300 miles around so he could show me some of the sacred sites. We then climbed up 25 miles to the top of a mountain and watched the sun set.
Heres a link to a couple of the pictures. I took so many and havn't really gone through them but heres a couple. I'll have more later

You know how when you say certain words over and over again they stop making sense?
Say "also" over and over again, after a bit it sounds like sea wall.

I can't figure out how to link images in my new browser so my journals will remain relatively boring until I stop procrastinating and figure it out.

Stay Cool

Holy Crap...Pneumonia is kicking my ass.
I had the flu last week and now this. I'm on bed rest for the rest of the week. During the flu I had hallucinations that involved a dragon in my bathroom sink and christmas trees on my bedroom ceiling.

I'm going to eat baby carrots and drink naked juice. Then I'm going to watch The Notebook.

Send some healthy...

I woke up late for class today. I stayed home and spent the day hemming my jeans. I have to hem all of my clothes because I am so damn short. Clothes are such a hassle, it's much easier to walk around naked all the time tongue

i agree - it's tough to find clothes for short people. i get lazy and just cuff my jeans, but it never looks as good as if i hem them.

I am reminded of a scene from Broken Saints when a monk named Kamimura said something to the effect that there were only two constants/absolutes in the world: beauty and impermanence.
