I recently made a proposal to Sean to see if SuicideGirls might be interested in experimenting with how we choose the set of the day. I asked if he would be interested in nominating a photographer, a long standing model or an old school member once a month and asking them to make a 4 day selection from the sets in member review. To trial this I have been given the opportunity to choose the front page sets from Thursday the 5th until Sunday the 8th of May.

I love the idea that the front page could be like an art gallery of beautiful photographs and that members and contributors to the site could curate special combinations of sets. At the moment staff use comment counts and percentage ratings to purchase sets but I think this diminishes the diversity we see on the front page. Allowing a different person to show what they think deserves to be set of the day will bring variety and freshness and I hope it might give active community members and models a new enthusiasm for the member review process.

I hope you all enjoy the four sets I have picked, don't forget to comment on them and let the models and photographers know what you think. If you like the idea and would like to see it continuing with other curators then please post your opinions on here. I'm really excited about this idea and hope it can continue running. I'll write a bit more about why I chose all the sets once they're all up and try to collate what everyone thought of the whole thing.
