In the past I came across some posts on Facebook or Instagram where people complained about getting their tattoo copied, and I felt at the time they were being a little dramatic about it. I must admit my opinion somewhat changed when the other day someone made me notice that ...

Inventing new cocktails is one of the great joys in life. This thread is for innovators and visionaries. No judgments, just sharing your own private recipes and picking up new ones. I'll try to taste test as many of them as I can.

I'll start us: the Oxford ...

THE F-N SHOT

1oz E & J peach

1oz Crown Royal apple

Splash of sweet and sour

it is a tall shot

crharrison:

My personal favorite that I drink when I get sick.

Start with a shot glass.

Add .50 oz of Jack Daniels Tennessee Honey (or any other honey whiskey will be fine)

Add .50 oz of Spiced Rum (Captain Morgan or Sailor Jerry, etc.)

Top with either orange juice or pineapple juice.

I call it. . .The Cough Drop

@lyxzen I saw there are tickets for the glass house show as well and that would be better for me as it would be less drive time. Still have to see if it will work out.

I think Morgan Freeman said that when taking about homophobia, and it sums up how I feel about bigotry in general. I live in the South, the bigotry and ignorance capital of the world, and i could write a book about this kind of shit, from my childhood on up to this week. I wish people would get the fuck out of other people's...

There are a number of reasons for "bigotry" believe me when I say that it is completely unfair for her future education to be detrimented by a lack of understanding. The "fear" brought upon people by this idea is actually fairly understandable. Do I agree with it.. no. I was raised around gay and transgender individuals my entire life therefore, being very exposed to the matter, I am obviously incredibly sympathetic to the cause but understanding why people, especially in the south, would find this bothersome is not very shocking. There is a stigma that is created through the fact that modern society still exists through old doctrines.  but i feel i can't judge those who find solace In the beliefs that society is very quickly outgrowing. I hope with all my heart that a sensible decision can be made for this person and her future won't be halted due to how she was born. But this process of societal change will not be one that is done overnight. My sincerest hopes go to this fine young person.

What a ridiculous and horrible situation for her to be in. The stupidest part is, if nobody had known she was trans, she could have gone in, used the toilet like everyone else and nobody would have blinked and eye. My hope is that stories like this and the situation in North carolina will ultimately lead to public awareness and a positive outcome. We just have to keep trying.

First off I would like to say I will start this with things I've encountered this week and in general. I haven't ever really posted things like this on here because im very opinionated but with that being said I love you try and understand why people think the way they do and say the things they say.

Most recently I had a

“There is a cult of ignorance in the United States, and there has always been. The strain of anti-intellectualism has been a constant thread winding its way through our political and cultural life, nurtured by the false notion that democracy means that 'my ignorance is just as good as your knowledge.” (Asimov). The only disagreement I have it this quote is that it applies to several countries as well (mine included - Brazil).

Don't forget about Gene and Jude's in River Grove, they were voted #1 hot dog in America ( even though it is Maxwell style rather than Chicago style it is still a good dog). Then you have Local H who formed in Zion and played the Metro alot in the 90's ( I was there a lot), along with Disturbed who also got there break playing the Metro. Cheap Trick and Styx are other notable local bands. And one more note is that the Unabomber was a native of the area ( he actually attended my high school when they opened up, which was way before my time). All in all I enjoyed your blog, you definitely know the city very well.

I spoke about some of the movies that were filmed in my town on my blog. Is one of those burgers called the prince or something, just got a random picture of him in between the food stuff.
