Just yesterday I was discriminated against because I am a girl photographer.

Yes, that's right, people still don't take females seriously when it comes to live music photography, and i'm sure many other areas of photography. Not only was I discriminated against because I am female, I was also discriminated against for being naked on the internet, AT THE SAME TIME.

It...

Women are discriminated against in all areas. We have to keep fighting for equality

Well I have a small list I guess if we are talking about biggest fears. A few from my childhood which unfortunately live on today, clowns and chickens. . . I guess if anyone ever dresses a chicken up as a clown I'm screwed lol.

Chickens, well when I was younger my Nana lived on a farm and had the usual, horse, ducks, geese, cows, dogs...

Yeah I just saw the trailer the other day, while I'm not much of a super hero film guy so much anymore, this film does look good enough for me to go see!

I just saw it Tuesday night! AWESOME! I'm glad to see Spidey where he belongs. Now I hope Marvel can get X-men and F4 back where they belong. People keep forgetting that Captain America came out in the 1940s. So he's entitled to be a boy scout. Same thing with Superman. But I think Marvel has handled Cap way better than WB has handled Superman as of late. He was hands-down the worst part of BvS.

I went back and fourth on making this thread, but decided to start the discussion.

Im looking for advice/opinions/solidarity on the struggle between being straight edge and being prescribed medication.

Im asking specifically about mental health medications, like long term mood stabilizers and antidepressants (lamotragine, lithium, welbutrin etc ...

I know we all go through our own battles respectably. I have never beenable to handle medication well. At my wit's end with depression and suicidal thoughts I went to the doctor who gave me a low dose. He assured me if I didn't have a chemical imbalance it wouldn't affect me. In less than 3 days I was bleeding, so anxious and out my mind and a severe migraine. I stopped taking them and went back to him. He got angry at me and while giving me shit for not wanting to (be able to) go to the anxiety groups he stomped out the door saying he couldn't help me. Left alone again to figure things out by myself (along with having a small little one to keep me from ultimate harm) eventually found a natural healing method. I'm now a Reiki Master, energy healer, and my life has been steadily improving. The bonus and what I feel so passionate for is helping others that struggled the same. It's changed everything and all I use is my heart and my hands. πŸ’–

zelena:

I'm completely torn on this subject. I definitely don't like the idea of being on medication for anything, but sometimes it's necessary. I've struggled with chronic depression for about 12 years of my life. I hated being put on anti depressants because I never saw a difference in my mood or mental stability. As I got older I was weened off of the medication but just recently, depression got the best of me. I was crying all the time, angry, irritated, and anxious. After about 6 months of trying to deal with it myself (yoga, gym, landmark, etc) I realized I needed professional help. What really made me realize I couldn't do this on my own was just a BRIEF passing thought of suicide. After that thought passed, I realized that this was much bigger than I. I've been on my anti depressants for about a month and half and I'm definitely feeling like myself again. Although, I am interested to see how my body and brain react when I get weened off. We shall see.

I think it's up to each person to decide what is best for them and their body and understanding when it's time to seek help from medication whether it be for hormones, depression, pain.

Thanks @rambo @missy and @lyxzen for this blog homework! I always love to talk about music!
