Was introduced to the Chinese Zodiac by a girlfriend. As a Libra; thought i'd mix the 2; an Ox on one part of the scales; and a box implying me on the other; with it tilted towards me; as if to say "who i am isnt because of when i was born". It would have been done by her; but life happened and she couldnt do it in the end. It also needs touching up and god knows when thatll happen.

I was 34 when I got my first tattoo, so I had a lot of time to consider what I might get in all the years prior to that when I was just idly considering it.

I'd known for a long time that if I was going to get anything it would involve a G (treble) clef on my right arm and an F (bass) clef on my left. I play the accordion, playing the treble-end melody with my right hand and doing chords and bass accompaniment with the left so it made sense.

However, I couldn't come up with any kind of large design that incorporated the symbols that I liked, so I decided to keep it simple and just go with fairly small tattoos of just the clefs by themselves. Since the symbols were only going to be fairly small, it made sense to get them done on my wrists rather than further up the arms.

So that's what I went with.
