ramble ramble ramble!!
my coices of things to do today were:
1) go to some party a friend was hosting. it would be her, her husband, their kids and like 8 other married couples and their kids that i don't really know, and watch them get stupid drunk. fun! scratch that.
2) go to my sister's cottage where her family and her in-laws and my parents would also be getting stupid drunk, followed by lighting off fireworks and probably burning their neighbors houses down. also fun! no thank you.
3) stay home and do nothing! yes, choosing this one.
i've been overworking and have looked forward to just simply doing nothing for a few months now, so i'm actually enjoying the hell out of it this extended weekend. up until a few weeks ago, i've been working on this project at work with all sorts of pressure on me....the higher-ups just haven't been TELLING me there's all sorts of pressure on me. but hell, being low on the food chain, and being the only tester on a new machine for a 35 some-odd million dollar contract is kinda full of pressure. anything i let slip is going to come back to me. however, i did get taken off that project to work on a different one starting tuesday. i'm pretty psyched about it. i'll be working with an engineer and developer i really like, and won't have to worry about being the fall guy.
wow..way too much typing for trying to do nothing.

Sometimes a quiet holiday is good. Sounds like a nice selection of choices.
