So as some of you know my health has pretty much sucked for the last year and change. It's not something I really want to talk about, but it is getting better now and I'm starting back into working out to undo some of the damage. My how much difference a year makes.
The last couple weeks I've been doing some ramp up exercises, squats, crunches, push ups, calf raises, etc just to make sure I'm not going to hurt myself when switching over to weights. Which I did today.
Did I mention how much difference a year makes?
I ended up having to at least halve the weight for every exercise, the worst is down to one sixth what I used to do. I even ended up using those 10 pound weights that I bought just in case anyone else ever wanted to use them. That's the first time those have been used for anything other than rounding out the set and moving from place to place.
I'm not looking for encouragement, or posting this for any reason other than to hold myself accountable for fixing this by keeping at it. I just need to know that it's out there and that I expect this of myself.
When I started back up again I started following some instagram fitness people, the fit women for motivation and the fit people in general for inspiration. Let me tell you, when you're looking at a picture of a guy with a prosthetic leg doing a 405 pound squat, it's really hard to find an excuse not to get out of bed and do your workout.
