Insanity And Assumptions : The 40 Week 6 Round Up/Update [T40W06RU/U +1]
8/16, Noon
I live not for tomorrow nor yesterday, but for the day in which I dwell - today. Today is who I am, I know not who I'll be tomorrow, nor am I who I once was. Aspects of yesterday may remain into tomorrow, but I'm never completely the same, for each day I live, I learn and this knowledge changes me, rebuilds part of me, and I am anew.
been busy workwise and all-too-quiet otherwise, with the exception of last weekend when a friend and his daughter came down and took the spawn and I to Como for the zoo - which was loads of fun
I (insanely?) took a bet to watch all of the Twilight movies... Oi! And I just had to take it now that I don't drink.
Watched the 1st and 2nd one yesterday - I didn't think it was possible to NOT get better in the sequel unless you were Hayden Christensen... guess I was wrong.
the 3rd will be arriving today and the 4th/5th on Mon or Tues.
at least I get breaks so that I don't become suicidal...
ok, I admit, they're not THAT bad - though they blaspheme the very sanctity of vamprism... seriously, these afterschool special/melodramas could've been about ANYthing with how they're filmed without mention of vampire - no one would've noticed!
and some of the other people in the film aren't that bad, but the main three? *ooof* they obviously weren't selected for their acting prowess - unless that was the directors' intent.
s'been a pretty quiet 3day weekend - mostly due to being cashstrapped and only taking the vaca to use it up (just as I will in the weekend after next).
I do find it funny how people assume that I've dated or been dating since the divorce... I mean, really?
I "dated" 4 people IN TOTAL in the past 20yrs and only the ex-wife lasted longer than 40days - and people actually assume that?! *laughs*
admittedly, I've only been hit on by one woman locally - and that woman is the ex-wife - but by at least one man a year.
too bad I'm a "breeder," I may actually have a sexlife then *smirks*
ok, it's not as if there hasn't been an "opportunity" in a couple occasions but they were with one or the other of the pre-ex-wife three (I'm only in contact with two of them)
...and lack of interest on my end (no offense meant, but it's true) - maybe there's a reason they're ex-g/fs, and it's probably good for them to remain "friends," at best.
oh well - maybe someday Someone New will come along and actually take interest in a crazy-yet-boring-fathre-of-two-with-broken-teeth, though I find it unlikely.
seriously, other than co-workers, friends-of-friends, and people I've met at comic and sci-fi conventions, the likelihood of someone I don't know even TALKING to me is slim...
and, as has been proven since my teeth were shattered, looks ARE everything to most people
I'll have an interesting convo going with a stranger... then I accidentally smile or laugh and *BAM* with not even a goodbye, the convo is done
...more than a couple of times they literally crossed the street away from me
*sighs*
