The Nearly Year-End Wrap-Up And Randomness : The 39 Week 24 Round Up/Update [T39W24RU/U]
year-wise, this has been an intriguing one...
yes, mostly the usual boring with the occasional Helsyeh! time with friends and my spawnlings, the daughter equivalent of chaos
( including, unquestionably, a good friend's wedding that other good friends attended *smiles* )
...BUT, since we're approaching the end of the year, I can say that it's been a "lucky" one as well
notably it's the FIRST year since '88 - in 24yrs! - that someone I know and/or loved hasn't died...
true, it may be "risky" mentioning it before the end of the actual year, but nonetheless, it's unquestionably a good thing
...and, while I hope that it lasts for longer than just a year, I'll take this one year.
it's like a gift that I probably don't deserve but there's no way in the 7 hells I'll give it back
my brain has been everywhere lately, as if it's switching channels daily - if not hourly, at times.
then I'll be feeling just fine and out of nowhere my brain will trigger a random emotion, oftimes coupled with memoria.
thankfully work has been extremely busy with a LOT on my plate, so my brain doesn't even have a chance...
it's just when I return home - a'yep, I become my brain's playground *sighs*
even the usual distraction via reading, musiqa, or netflix/hulu/DVD isn't helping as it used to.
just an FYI as well that this will likely be my year-end post (unless I post some poetry or art)...
no, not because of the "end of the world" Mayan thing - never trusted those Mayans
but because next week, from Thursday to Tsunday, I'll be in "the Relative Dakotas"
an 8hr trip to my fathre's in ND... I think the last time I was there was for my mothre's funeral - so over 3yrs. (wow)
( of course, with a 5yr & 7yr old along, it'll likely be longer than 8hrs - even with the ex's driving )
the ex-wife was nice enough to offer to bring me with, as she and our girls had planned the trip
I'll be seeing my vegetabl... er, nephew... Kayl Thomas for the first time (sorry - having a nephew named after a vegetable, too easy! I'm gonna drive the kid nuts before kindergarten!)
I know my girls are excited... and I suppose that's good enough
I'm certain there'll be the usual doses of "what the...," awkward moments, questionable convos, and boredom...
but there'll also be smiles, bits of laughter, and maybe I'll even be able to help my fathre with something *shrugs*
I'm not saying spending time with familia is a bad thing, but I've never been "family social" - I don't quite fit in
( and, no offense, but I'm much closer to many of my friends than I've ever been with any relative )
...and - while I admit it's merely my opinion - but miniscule town North Dakota that I can walk through in less than an hour of mostly relatives...
not exactly excitement material
ANYways... I won't have internet access there - let alone access to my own computer(s) - so unless I do a last day of the year post on Monday...
this was it. no big "finale," no bells and whistles or random nudity (that you're aware of) ... just me and my usual bit(s).
so... to you,
my Lovelies and Gentlefolk,
Have a great end of the year,
hopefully 2012 was good to you,
and see those of you I see in 2013!
