Been a bit of a while since I last updated.....
So...what has been going on....been out a good few times, went to Cribbs a few times, have had some nice shoes and make up lately, have been out a few times with Alex, went to Clifton and did surprisingly well in the charity shops there. Nice jewellery anyways and some lovely earrings. Mind you,I normally do somewhat well there. Need to have a go at cleaning the Donna Summer vinyl I bought there and Alex is going to have a go at cleaning it for me. Did get a Grace Slick cassette there too. Yes I did say cassette... I sometimes buy them if they're something special or exceptional.
Tried to get to a garden centre the other week but didn't know the correct way and gave up as it was heavy traffic and would have been shut by the time we got there. Just did the food shop and got a pair of shoes although ended up getting a refund in the end after the covering came off after only one usage.
Had a nice day out with Alex last week, found an adorable pair of Gina shoes that were new and had their own little cloth bag(indication of quality, that is!) and I did think they were £8 but I had misread it and they were £18 but I got them anyways as they were worth more and never worn. I Could wear them for the wedding! I have a blue shirt and handbag and I was looking for a blue pair even if my others are more posh but I am considering a top I have seen online that would be better with the more posh ones but then I don't have a matching handbag for that so we'll see. Got some nice jewels too anyways and a Gene Hunt travel game/board game since I love 'Ashes to Ashes'!!!! Had a lovely peach lemonade drink there though.
Finally got to the garden centre and had an choc ice lolly there and we only had an hour but still got some nice stuff but we won't go again since it is expensive there. Passed by the supermarket and had a lemonade drink in a coffee shop there then a shopping park nearby on the way back and got some more plants.
Last Saturday was a bit of a washout, did get some nice make up though. Checked on the John Foxx CD but it wasn't out yet.
Sunday was better weather and had a nice coffee after we went to the supermarket. But...checked my message requests on FB and was so delighted I ran downstairs and told my Mum,since Jade( who was my best friend when I was a child and from 83-94) had messaged me and I had looked for her before but I think she only recently got on FB perhaps. Anyways,we chatted about the olden days and she remembers a lot more than me and she's married with 4 kids and lives in Yorkshire now. We were chatting for hours and we were also chatting about people we knew at school and when I mentioned Trevor still being good looking she said I always did like him...which is true haha! But yeah we've been chatting a lot since and commenting and liking a lot since and her daughter really does look like her so much that the photo she posted I thought was her!!! Been sending her pics I found of us but can't find the one of us in the backyard in 1984 I think...sent her ones she was in at my 5th birthday party and the Victorian dress up day! I'm so glad we have got back in touch, going to do a playlist on Youtube to send to her and she still listens to Madonna and I posted up 'Whos That Girl' and she liked it and commented...when they play that on the radio it always makes me think of her! She remembered me liking the Bangles though! So nice to chat to her though as it has been too long! I think if I ever do go to Leeds I will see her although it's a very long way from here but if I ever do get there or to Sheffield which is nearer then I will see her. She loves 80's music too and vintage fashion and 'Life on Mars' and 'Ashes to Ashes' too!!!!
Had to nip into town on the Monday and at least got the John Foxx CD and some bracelets and for the first time in ages I had totally forgotten to wear any!!!!
Tuesday I had to nip into town to sort something out which was ok and then headed up to Park Street to look in the charity shops and had a good look round and after some deciding ended up on getting a batwing jumper and the lady in there knows me and was hoping I'd be in before it goes! It is on the big side(why I had to go off and look around before deciding) but with a belt it's do-able. Also got a lovely polka dot shirt too. Was such lovely sunny weather I went and got a salad box from a little supermarket where you can do a pick and mix and sat on the harbourside to eat it before heading into town to get the bus home.
Wednesday was ok, Alex picked me up but had Ben with him so we had to drop him off first and then we went to a local charity shop which had some nice stuff including some necklaces and also Hello Kitty bathbombs and a postcard book which had a few missing but was cheap so it was ok. They did have a Hello Kitty glasses and ashtray set but it had the wrong lid on the box and no stamps on the bottom of the glasses so most likely fake. Got some Hello Kitty things at a bargain store later. Had a nice meal though.
Had to nip back into town on Thursday and just got some bits and pieces and lipsticks and clip on earrings.
Yesterday needed to check something so I got the bus to Church Road and one of the charity shops I wanted to go to is always shut on Fridays and Saturdays. Typical. Did what I needed to do and it was better than I had expected. Ended up getting a couple of necklaces and some clip ons and 2 pairs of vintage 80's sunglasses from a junk shop. Had a nice choc ice lolly and got some cheap chocolate and some Haribo cola bottles and some bread rolls for my tea. Was raining a but but still walked home as it's not far and just came round the back way home.
Been wearing my new jeans since I did order a load...got to love Jennyfer Jeans!!! Right length and high waisted! Jeans here are not good so I order them from Jennyfer in France! Shame I have the tendency to spill something on them within hours of putting new ones on...luckily not too visible though the two times I have!
Talking of France, we were supposed to go on holiday this month but decided not to and lucky we didn't due to the petrol blockades...as according to the map online, the three petrol stations on the N137 are all out of petrol and the others mentioned don't have our petrol! Doesn't mention the ones we normally use so perhaps they are ok,but still....odd that it took so long for it to be reported on the TV or in the press here...almost 10 days after it all started.
Anyways, time for a picture and music share now!
Sharing pics from 'Ashes to Ashes' since it is my fave TV show and I do base my look around that of Alex Drake.
Now for a music share!
That's all for now...'Blessed Be'!
