Ah! It has been ages since my last blog post and I feel horrible for not keeping up! I guess my summer has become much busier than I had anticipated it to be, which is quite a good thing.
I have been working a lot, I even got a bit of a promotion so that's fun even in the "exciting" world of working for minimum wage, but I am very thankful for my job in "these difficult economic times." I have also been reading a ton, I finished Pride and Prejudice and Zombies which was AMAZING. It's currently being passed around at work. I am currently working on The Electric Kool-Aid Acid Test, which is something I have been wanting to read since I was about 16 but now that I'm finally reading it, much to my surprise, I am having a difficult time getting into it. I decided to take a break from it and I've picked up another book that was on my original reading list: King Dork. It's a "teen" book but I am in love with it, it's sort of a spin on Catcher in the Rye, a HILARIOUS spin.
I have also started painting again! Painting has become my therapy. I am so thrilled to be into it again... I've done about five paintings so far and I'm working on a sixth at the moment.
And let's see, what else... I spent this past weekend in Denver with my younger cousin. We went to the Zoo, which was great fun, I haven't been to a zoo since I was a kid. We stayed in Downtown Denver at this fabulous little retro-themed hotel called The Curtis and then we went to the Denver Art Museum and checked out the "Psychedelic Experience" which was an exhibit of 1960's rock posters from San Francisco (I'm a Bay Area native so that was truly exciting), we even got to make our own rock posters!
Next up is another week of work and then a four-day trip to Mammoth Lakes, California to visit one of my very best friends who I haven't seen in about 4 years! So so excited about that!
Yup, it's a great summer!
