Back from traveling. . . PHX for work, ATH for vacation and then PHL for work within a two week period. It was nice to see old friends in PHX, I loved ATH (although I don't think I will return - it's kind of a once and done kind of place) and I can't complain about the $2,400 dinner and 1,000 square foot suite in PHL - gotta adjust to the new job that allows me to live that way on the road. Oh, there were 17 people at the dinner - not just me.
Developing a new payment solution for work and dealing with the usual project BS. Everywhere I have worked, especially in Fortune 500 companies, it seems as though too many unnecessary people get to weigh in on how a project should be completed once it is greenlighted. I lost four solid weeks of time listening to others debate the wisdom of the course that I had already been handed by executive leadership. Why do so many companies give detractors and haters a voice? I'm all for feedback and better ideas, but if you're here to stall my project simply because you don't like it - get the hell out of my way!
On a personal note, the baby chicks arrived today and I am working on the chicken coop this weekend. Been watching 'chick TV' off an on to make sure the little darlings are OK. More on the urban farm as it develops.
Peace.
