I'm sitting here hating my job, hating the fact that my boss is forcing me to work overtime, and pretty much hating everything in my life for the majority of the day. So I come home and I find that my cat seems to have hurt her foot. She will barely put any weight on it, but she seems to be putting more on it...

My previous journal may seem random but it comes on the heels of about a 30 minute rant by me to friends about how much lying was going to be done in the speech last night. I have nothing else to say, but I thought I'd explain that a little better so that I don't seem quite as completely insane as it made me sound.
devil_bitch:
The lying is always expected. Even with the Democrats but with Dubya it's a given. I like to watch and see how many stupid things he can say in a 40 minute address. It's sad and entertaining all at the same time.

Speaking of sadness how do you feel about Jeb running for President? I realize that I just set myself up. But I still want to know. tongue
devil_bitch:
You really think McCain is going to run again?

Eh...well I would take McCain over Jeb. I know that the Democrats don't stand a chance. I want John Edwards to run again but if Hilary runs she is getting my vote. She would never get elected but it would be a great step for women in politics. Better than Condi.

I think that everybody who knows me probably sees an odd, lonely guy who watches way too many movies and is entirely too passionate about politics, which I can't figure out if it's a bad thing or not.

I think you will always be a mystery to me....

I have odd fears. Now, I'm not saying that I'm batshit crazy paranoid, but you might after I explain them. Don't get me wrong. I know that everybody suffers from phobias, but certain phobias of mine are quite possibly insane. Just to show that I'm not lying I'll give you a quick list of my major fears, starting with the common ones.

I'm scared of...

I actually have tons to say but nothing that I can't coherently put down in words. But I'm at least going to try for a moment, so bear with me.

I love my life. Seriously, I don't think I could have a better life. Sure I'm about 20 pounds heavier than I want to be, but I'm working on that. My cholesterol is about 40...

I saw Batman Begins today. Wow, I loved it. It's dark and gritty and very grounded in the comic. I'm a huge comic book nerd. I have no shame about it. I've seen damn near every comic book movie released in my lifetime. I saw the shitty ass Captain America movie, I saw both Punishers. I mean, I've suffered. One brief note before I talk...

Nice. All I'm hearing are good things about this movie. I'm really looking forward to seeing it. It's a rare comic-book movie that doesn't piss off all the comic book fans.

Here are the words you never want to hear when you answer the phone, "Your lab results are back and the Dr. would like you to come in. He needs to talk to you." Yep, looks like I'm about to be scolded for my health.

I'm guessing it's my cholesterol, which was high a year ago, or my lipids, also high a year ago, or...

I hope that all turns out well. Congrats on the healthy eating. Very impressive. And it is making me hungry for a chicken sandwich and pasta salad. MMMM

This makes me absolutely giddy. I'm like a little schoolgirl watching this damn thing. It's time to reveal a few things about Tanner, the man. I am an absolute nut for musical theater. I've seen Les Mis, Miss Saigon, Phantom, Joseph, JC Superstar and the list goes on and on. I got this love of musical theater from my mother who always had a musical...

Yes, I've been absent. I've been lurking, but I've just not had much to say, and I still don't actually, but I felt that I should say something. I worked 47 damn hours last week at a job that literally is making me sick. Well, the stress of the job coupled with the 25 pounds I've gained seemingly overnight are combining to make me ill,...

I have cut soda out of my diet(which, considering I drank 8 to 12 a day, is kind of huge for me) but I'm having a problem staying away from fattening foods.

DUDE! that is AWESOME! i am really impressed! you have done a great thing for yourself.

my suggestion for staying away from the fatty foods sounds like i stole it from a women's magazine (which i probably subconciously did) but it works for me: fill up on healthy foods! ta-da!

i always have one piece of fresh fruit (apple, banana, or blueberries), one granola bar, and one yogurt at work to turn to in the event that i get hungry. grilled meat is not all that bad. the merc has those tasty salmon fillets in the back, at their deli. anything fried or creamy is what will really get you. including ranch dressing. always use fat free dressing, or as close as you can get to it, because 2 tablespoons of regular salad dressing have half your daily recommended allowance of fat. ewwww! i also recommend popping your own popcorn in olive oil and then just sprinkling salt on it. the olive oil makes it taste good, and you end up not needing the butter.

you can do it! the trick is to keep eating, just eat healthy.

I hate today.

As a warning, what I am about to write is not going to be funny, it's not going to be glib, it's not even going to be political for once. It's going to be sincere, it's going to be honest, and it's going to be quite possibly depressing. I hope that some of it is uplifting though also. I can't promise anything...

Umm is this thing on? *taps mic gingerly* I am not sure where we are. Are how you feel about me...but um can we start over? I think that you are good person just dealing with a lot and perhaps I over reacted... Friends? *extends hand*

Btw I love Seabiscuit. One of my fav movies and books. You can't beat yourself up for the things that you have no control over. Your mom knew that you loved her. She always knew that. Parents always know. Because they love you and no matter what you say or don't say you are godlike in their eyes.

I've just finished reading What's the Matter with Kansas? like literally 2 minutes ago I read the last words. I'm still digesting the book, obviously, but I am reminded of an exchange between myself and one of my dear friends about a year or so ago. I had noticed that she was not being very talkative so I pressed her on what was wrong. The...

I have returned from my voyage to Western KS virtually unscathed. I escaped with only 2 arguments and 1 night of drunken debauchery. More on all 3 in a moment. First, I want to say thank you to Sophie and cklarock for the comments and for being rad as they get. I've not met either in person, but I can definitely say that there isn't...
