Try some black cohosh, valerian (unfortunately smells like ass), chaste tree, and kava kava in a tea- will undoubtedly lessen all symptoms. (I swear- off anti anxiety meds for about 6 months with no problems...)
I love that you didn't/don't have TV. It really changes one's perspective. I myself am a product of growing up in front of the tube, watching Lucy and M*A*S*H* reruns over and over.
