i've spent most of the week locked in an editing suite and i am so glad to see daylight again. the payoff for spending far too much of my life piecing together a promotional materials--free dinner and hopefully an open bar, so it's probably all worthwhile.
i had a special effects and makeup workshop this weekend. it was interesting. i'll be cutting out someones tongue...

my sincerest apologies for not updating too recently. i'm still pissed off about the election and don't feel the need to spew more anti-bush rhetoric here, so until my focus changes there may be a delay in entries for a bit.

in other news, karl rove sucks too... surreal

i would like to congratulate the 18-29 crowd for refusing to get off their asses and make a difference. once again, we made just as disappointingly low a dent as we did in 2000. a heartfelt thanks to all of you who did vote and to all those who didn't -- way to express your apathy.

mad

my silver lining is that douglas county voted like 67% kerry.

i spent the majority of the weekend taking a class over comedy in american cinema. it wasn't the most exciting way to spend a weekend but it was nice to catch some old comedies i hadn't seen in awhile...

College -- Buster Keaton, 1927

Modern Times -- classic Chaplin, 1936

Trouble in Paradise -- Ernst Lubitsch, 1932

It Happened One Night -- Frank Capra, 1934...

autumn is beautiful in a depressing way. i've been listening to Ours a bit too much for this time of the year, it doesn't help anything.

my head has been wrapped up in this experimental, visual poetry short that i've been trying to develop. it's frustrating. i have had the worst time writing over the course of the last few months. writer's block, i guess....

Okay, so I'm getting ready to write a research paper for my Communication Theory class and I've decided to focus on the novel House of Leaves, by Mark Z. Danielewski as an example of Postmodern Literature. So, anyone who has read it and has some insight, please feel free to let me know your thoughts.

Anyone who has not read this book needs to buy...

Too many late nights. The days have begun blurring together. I'm alive and actually doing pretty well but I keep refusing to sleep for any decent amount of time.

I promise as soon as I get a handle on the world around me I'll be back surreal

Well, I just wanted to check in! I promise I'm still alive...mostly.

Anyway, I have been spending all of my free time at the film festival and frequenting a number of poorly-lit watering holes with various filmmakers. It has been an amazing experience. I've made a handful of new friends that are all keeping my life relatively exciting, something that I have certainly needed.

I...
