hahahah, "since im a big jew"...i love it!

we dont usually do much to celebrate any holidays, cos we arent religious at all (&we like making up holidays to "celebrate"), so we enjoy the day-after candy quite a bit as well, haha.

about the yoga pants, theyll probably get it figured out if you send them an email about it, but maybe youve already tried that. that really does suck that it got screwed up!

i completely agree. we only know or understand ourselves and the world around us through the language we have learned. and it makes it so hard to change things because we don't have the words for what we want or need.

anyways... i'm starving, i need to make some food!! but i have a shit load of dishes to do first, this sucks! haha

My tattoo is shedding those little pieces of skin, and I'm getting all worried that the color is coming off.

I'm pretty sure it isn't because the shedding thing is normal, but it has me all freaked out for my little tattoofrown

Reassure me?

I finally got my tattoo after over a year of planning - huzzah!

It hurt sooo bad - I'm such a puss bag. It felt like a scalpel was being being dug into and dragged across my back. But it only took like 20 minutes, luckily. Now the bandage is all bloody and gross, but it looked so nice before he patched it up -...

PLEASE HELP: TATTOO STUFF

I don't want to get yelled at in the tattoo community bc this might be a dumb question, but which set of advice do I follow?

Instructions from Tattoo site of where I'm getting it done:
Remove the bandage after 3-5 hours. Wash the tattoo with soap and warm water, and pat dry with a paper or clean cloth towel....

Yikes. Horrible advice. I work at a tattoo shop, I do tattoos, this is how I heal mine:

remove the bandage after 24 hours. after 24 take a shower and run cold cold water over your tattoo for 5 full minutes. during this time make sure you wash your tattoo very well with your hand and some dial antibacterial soap. make sure you get all the slime and body fluid that's on top of it off of there. what that stuff is is the stuff that makes your tattoo scab. the less of that stuff you leave on, the lighter and flakier the scab will be, and it will heal much quicker. apply a very small amount of unscented lotion (like lubriderm or something) no more than three times a day for two weeks ONLY WHEN IT ITCHES. no picking, no scratching, no tanning, no hottubbing, no baths for two weeks. make sure your showers are quick for the next two weeks. don't let it saturate in water, that makes for a soggy scab that can come off and leave holes in your color. soggy scabs are no good. and NO PICKING SCABS!

that's how i heal mine, and they've all turned out beautifully. definitely don't use neosporin or bactine or anything. thats wrong wrong wrong.

hope i helped! kiss kiss
lyxzen:
yeah, what she said! only ive been told to make sure that the lubriderm you use is also the kind for super sensitive skin -- make sure there is NO LANOLIN in it (some have it &some dont), cos that causes allergic reactions in some people, you know, rubbing it into a wound, haha, and that kind of sucks.

&24 hours is best to leave it wrapped, but if 16 or 12 or even 8 hours is easier, my artist has told me thats fine, too.

but yeah, nooooo neosporin. i hate bad advice!

One of my professors (who I love) has the same pair of glasses as me.

Haha - is that really cool or really dorky?
Or both?

biggrin

Oh, BTW, she pointed it out to me, and on closer examination I found she was correct. Heh...
