So... I got a job offer today from a "major automotive manufacturer" here in... where else... the motor city that would pay me to go back to school, almost double my current salary and ... heres the best part... all to do a job that I've already been doing for 3 years as a contractor.... You'd think this would be a good thing right?? Well... not so much.
My significant and supremely better "other half" is pissed!! Well, not pissed so much as upset. See, I told her that if I don't end up going "direct hire" at this job then we'd do what she's always wanted to do and move out of state. But right now, there's no where to go... No one's hiring - not for what I do anyway...
So how could I pass up a good job that I already know I like, and where I'm already appreciated... for the unknown realm of a totally new gig?? Here's how I see it... I use this job for the resume boost, the free education, and the higher pay for 2 years or so, then we can go where ever we want right ??
I get why she's unhappy... but really it makes more sense to stay, doesn't it??
