We win!
Went to the IAWTV Awards yesterday, after having driven from SF to LA the day before we drove straight to Vegas for the award ceremony. We were all pretty happy about it:
We were all starving by the time we got there because we pretty much had eaten nothing all day, so I got pretty blitzed off a single glass of wine, although to be fair they were pretty generous with the pour.
Got some time to do some scmoozin:
That's me with Grace Helbig, Felicia Day, Sean Becker, Mary Kate Wiles, and Shira Lazar in order. Fun times.
Then it was off to the show:
Which to be honest, was mostly awful. Most of the jokes fell flat, the videos were so so, and I spent a good amount of time cringing and texting awful jokes back and forth with the rest of the HLG crew. There were a few presenters who genuinely stood out, including Grace Helbig from DailyGrace, Hannah Hart from My Drunk Kitchen, Chris Hardwick, and a few others.
But still, it was a fun experience and to my genuine surprise, we ended up winning "Best Drama Series" for our series Leap Year:
Not to say that I'm not incredibly proud of the work we did on the second season and think we fully deserve the award, but we were up against some pretty strong contenders, including Booth at the End and a series produced by Bryan Singer (which unfortunately I think noone watched, myself included...). Still, it was a great feeling to get recognition for all the work we did and all the amazing talent behind the series. I definitely think we went above and beyond for the second season and if you haven't checked it out yet then head on over to watch it on Hulu before I become highly offended and throw some kind of hissy:

And to top off the rest of our adventure we partied in Vegas and ended with my buddy doing a rather impressive impression of Cook E. Jarr, who I can only imagine is some kind of Warlock:
