OK, time for a new blog. Not much really going lately. Work is same ol' same ol'.

Did do my taxes this week though. Getting a refund. Yay!! Now to figure out what to do with it lol.

Been walking and stretching recently. Not huge results, but about 3 pounds down. And the stretching is getting easier, so I guess I'm loosening up a little...

It's temporary for them, they'll find a condo or something, but they had to be out so quickly they didn't have much time

Had an okay week. Kind of hectic with the new cats. Trying to get them acclimated to their new home has been interesting. Merlin is also trying to get used to them. Merlin is a Maine Coon, and he has been here for 2 years. He is seeming to get used to the newbies, but it's still a learning experience. I guess it'll take a...

We had about $2,800 in tools and charity. Which is a lot for some broke bitches like us! I'm trying to round up the money we'll see how it goes!

Had a good weeked - for the most part. Went to visit some friends who live just south of Philly. Had a good visit, and it was nice to catch up. Haven't seen them, or their kids, in awhile.

Did find out that one of our mutual friends addmitted himself to the hospital. That was a bit scary. Apparently he couldn't sleep and was having...

So I'm off to Dallas on Sunday. Have tons of stuff to do, and the plethora of meetings will keep me crazy busy.

Took a look on the boards to see if there might be some SG folks in the area that would want to catch up for a drink. Alas, it seems Dallas is a little short on chatter, at least on the SG...

Happy 2013!!!

I am sooooo happy to have 2012 behind me. Phew, it was a rough one. I lost three of my four cats - 1 to old age and 2 to cancer frown And my last cat, Merlin, seemed to be depressed after losing a bunch of his siblings. I had several other friends who lost pets, some several pets. And several friends had the...

Sorry about the loss of the kitties, it's rough and yes, I'm sure your last standing is very depressed about losing siblings. As hard as it is for the humans, the animals get hit hard too. Here's to a better year!

Okay. So tomorrow is the work holiday party. Not sure how this is going to go. We had a rough fiscal year, to the tune of no bonuses for anyone. The regular Christmas party was cancelled, and we only got the okay provided that lunch is a potluck. No, big, work is providing the booze, so there's that.

But, we're having the party at the...

Wow. The office party went off without a hitch. No "Jimmy and Sally in the copy room," but all in all, fairly nice. Basically work ended at noon, and I, at least, was able to chat with som epeople that I haven't had opportunity in some time.

There seems to be an after party Happy Hour organizing, so....

So, the Penn State Christmas party was last night. Not everybody could show up, but there still about 25 of us. We had a potluck dinner, and it was the most bizarre assortment of items we've ever had: artichoke dip, beef stew, flan, veggie casserole, black bean salsa. Nothing went together, but it still was a great time.

There was plenty of beer, wine, liquor,...

Okay, the holidays are upon us. The next few weeks are going to be crazy. On top of Issy suffering from cancer and Merlin having a spraying issue, there are several parties coming down the pike.

Tomorrow is the annual Christmas Ornament Painting Potluck. Should be fun, but it's a bunch of hauling. I'm responsible for tables, paints, and chairs. Don't have to cook though....

Ugh. Having a rough week.Thanksgiving went well, but Issy (one of my kitties) was kind of mopie. So, I took her to the vet. Turns out she had a UTI. No big deal, antibiotics for a few weeks. But, she still seemed mopie after a few days on the meds even though she should have started feeling better.

I come home last night after going...

frown Got an update from the vet. Turns out that Issy does cancer. Surgery apparently would be quite aggressive and dangerous as she is 9. Palliative treatment would be chemo, but that could effect her appetite. And, her appetite right now is nil.

I have a call back into the vet, but I fear that come this weekend poor Issy will no longer be with us frown

But, she was a terrific pet, and gave plenty of love. She used to wait for me at the front door. As soon as I'd get home from work she would come over and demand to be picked up. If I had my hands full and told her to wait, she would follow me around and meow until I finally picked her up. And she loved to be held like a baby and have her tummy rubbed.
