I am beginning to realize that life is typically hard. The majority of what I do I find difficult and not very "fun"
This is not a depressing thought for me, because I think I am becoming aware of what life's essential joy is.
I am becoming acutely aware of interactions i enjoy tremendously with other human beings. I think these are the greatest gift...

I was tired of looking at the Sufi poet.
Felt like a new entry was in order.
The spring continues to creep into our valley, I hope to till and spread manure this weekend.
Bought a new Dodge Dakota to do all this work, I forgot how nice it was to have a pickup.
Work is work, the people who receive treatment there keep me...

Pickups Rule! I have a beat up little Nissan 4x4. It won't win any beauty contests, but God bless it, it won't die. Of course, I don't try to kill it either, but you get my point. Hey, next time, maybe I'll quote some good prose for you. Like Chehkov? Maybe Babel. mad

From the Sufi poet Rumi:

This human being is a guesthouse,
every morning a new arrival.
A joy, a depression, a meanness,
some momentary awareness comes
as an unexpected visitor.
Welcome and entertain them all!
Even if they're a crowd of sorrows
who violently sweep your house
empty of its furniture
Still treat each guest honorably,
he may be clearing you out for some new...

your timing is not off, it is timeless. today the sun was shining and i had happiness bursting out of every pore. but that was today. tomorrow is an unknown. the poem will help me through the dark days that are ever present around every corner. thank you
jabberwok:
You're quite the poetry fan, eh? Gotta admit, not me. More of a prose man. But that shore is a purty pome.

I LOVE THIS POEM
As an individual who has hitchhiked coast to coast, it resonates

Advice to Hitchhikers

for Jason B. who lived in a cave for five months.

One in five will ask for oral sex,
what color underwear youre wearing.
Bet on it; but keep your money
in your shoe. Slink off the road

where no one reads....

My journal needs updating. I realized it needs regular updating. Today was nice, I never left the house.
It is amazing when I look back over the years, how many Easters I spent drunk.
Now 5-6 years without drinking.
I like not drinking better.
The weather in northern New England WILL NOT warm up.
No leaves, no green, still looks like I guess what most...

I think you are right.......I definitely need to come up with a plan, to feel more productive, and like I am contributing something towards a positive outcome. Yeah, my sisters live in Southern California. I miss them so much, especially since my Dad died.

I love this movie, Lost in Translation, isn't it amazing? I got the "so into you" thing. It's such a beautiful, tender and funny movie, I love it.

Anyway, will see you in chat soon. miao!!
