It's been awhile so here's a pretty bland update for everyone.
Statistics of the house.
Rent 925/month, Central Air and Heat, Privacy fenced large back yard, fireplace, 1.75 bathrooms, 3 bedrooms (which means Vic and I both have our own private spaces, which is going to be a blessing), with room enough for a roommate. It came with a tool bench some Queen Ann chairs from some fancy furniture store, and a large stand up Freezer.
Tonight we get a Washer and Dryer and Refrigerator for 110 bucks... all of them work well... courtesy of some stranger's dead grandmother. We'll be doing laundry till we leave for Spring Iniquity... but oh well.
This weekend, Sunday specifically, at Spring Iniquity, I'll be presenting "Human Puppy Training, putting the fun into teaching new tricks."
Vic will be presenting Pup 101 on Saturday... the introduction class to puppy play.
Things are really coming together... with the exception of finding a new job.
I'm locked into working on land... and it's not easy finding a job now... oh yea, I was laid off at that bad ass company I was working for... of course... but then again the executive I really liked who made that company cool was outright fired... so I suppose I really am not surprised.
Oh and the best news yet.
We have a new puppy!!! His name is Tide, he's 50% German Shepard, 25% Rottweiler, 25% Chow. He's going to look like a short haired version of a German Shepard on steroids with Rottweiler coloring and a curled up tail. He's so cute right now... 4 months and already 26lbs... of course in a year he'll be 110lbs or so... and not quite a cute.
He's got "sit", and "come" down as well as any puppy can be expected to. He still has some problem with communicating that he has to go outside... but he knows that he is supposed to go outside to shit... at least he has learned to hold peeing. He's not going to learn "heel" till he calms down a bit... but I'm still working it in every time we go for walks regardless.
He's pretty calm most of the time... since we got his hookworms killed he's had a lot more energy... but he's still mellow for a nearly 5 month old puppy.
Now I've had and seen a lot of dogs... but this one might be the smartest one yet... even with his puppy vigor he's picking up subtle social cues better than any dog I've had. And he's very quick witted... even if his memory is about as fragile as most people's ego. He's also very brave with most things... cars scare the hell out of him which I plan to keep that way except for mine... but it only took showing him twice to climb the open backed stairs at the apartment. Going down only took one more time... and after 2 weeks he's been trying to leap up the stairs.
We'll see how he settles into a bigger place... and a yard he can be off leash in.
