happy Labor Day to you all. in the U.S. you might get the day off. i spent it picking apples. the crop on a friend's farm has come in two weeks early, so i am trying to help out. figures it would get all hot again, after the recent monsoon season. only twenty acres to go, apples to grade and apples to pack. not complaining...

Yeah, while I agree that the Twins are in a more dire state.....the Mets are playing with our heads. It is torture....pure torture..... mad

seems Dick Cheny can not make up his mind:

i try not to be political, but i find that impossible these days. eeek

i am sure many of you have seen coverage of the I35 W bridge collapse in Minneapolis. i used that bridge regularly, although not in the past few weeks. when there was a lot of traffic it shook, many bridges do, but it seemed like a lot the last time i crossed it.

here is a link to a bridge inspection report, it is interesting...

I've always been weirdly nervous going over/under bridges. Guess the weird doesn't apply anymore, though. surreal

Awww, that sucks. How did you do that?

Loons are SO awesome. biggrin
i do not doubt orchestrations by the Govt.; they've lied for over 200 yrs...why would they stop? frown

When I watch other people I get confused as I have no idea what they're doing.

But, luckily, one of the few things I do know about is not getting food poisoning--my dad is a microbiologist, so he taught me about making sure things are cooked properly and which foods you need to wash your hands after handling, stuff like that.

i might win an award for the fewest blogs on a regular basis. things are good here in MN, except for the middle cat who has taken up tearing paper into small strips. it actually might obviate the need for the electrical shredder. he is not big on glossy paper though. honest, i know he is not hungry and i entertain him endlessly; it is...

I use reusable fair trade cotton bags for my shopping, actually tongue I just use plastic bags occasionally because I have to use something as bin liners and that's kind of recycling. Of course I'd like to have have less rubbish to throw out, but we don't get a recycling box here because we live in student flats, rather than a proper house.

Also, apart from pool bringing people together, it's a good excuse to sit and stare at Martin for a while smile

No problem!

this past weekend i put my boat in the water for the first time since 2001. it actually even started after i got a new battery. i had not put it in because i did not feel like it-my depression kept me from doing most things that required any sort of effort. aside from some mouse issues all is well and it is good to...

i am a poor blogger, ha in both senses of the word. the long holiday weekend here in the U.S. was good. cleared brush and drank beer, a wonderful combination. i love it when the weather gets warmer and more people are out and about, it makes the people watching that much better. skaters, bikers, sunbathers, runners, sitters, workers, they are all outside now. so...
