Announcement: From my point of view, life simply does not get better than this.
For a long time now, I have wanted to try out different forms of multi-media presentations. I was talking with a wonderful lady from New Jersey, about my ink, and my idea of making a small presentation with pictures and writing about each of my nine tattoos - new one yesterday, Nutsferatu, the Vampire Squirrel - with a sort of map as to where they are on me, and their significance - a Tatlas (thanks, Jase for the new word!!).
To cut a very long and involved story short, we are going ahead with a new multi-media project, It's called My Ink Project and my first foray into this is a personal journey.
My personal journey is called "My Left Leg" (specifically the space between my tribal barb-wire and my nasty blotchy knee. A while back, a friend said that he would create a tattoo archetype for me, from eight words, provided by friends to describe me, he could create an alchemic portrait and a unique tattoo design.
Step one, find eight friends who are going to take this seriously. Believe me, this is quite a hard task. There are people I love dearly, but who do not get the tattoos in any way. In fact, some of them just accept them because they are fond of me, but don't want to be reminded that I have them. There are people who know me, who think this thing is cool, but they are not necessarily my best friends. And then there is the overwhelming feeling that I want this to have a great deal of meaning, not just a great design.
So, as tasks go, the selection of friends is proving to be really, really tricky...
