I've moved into the new place so I spent most of Friday going through all the change of address fun. The DMV was a bit interesting, the physical address and the mailing address aren't the same so I made sure to bring a piece of mail to help settle the matter. The guy behind the counter could not find either address in the system but when I handed him a bill from the electric company that was more than enough to convince him of the address.
I had something reinforced with all of this. Be polite even if you don't really mean it, it disarms people. The guy who was ahead of me was being an ass for no good reason. He had basically the same issue and was equally prepared but his attitude caused all of his problems. Seriously a please and a thank you got me out in half the time.
