I boiled earthworms today so they would sit still for a photoshoot. I'm an evil human set on crushing and trampling poor invertabrates.
Quick science fact: Annelids (segmented worms), such as my unwitting models today, have the ability to regenerate after being sliced in two pieces. Cephalopods (such as squids and octopuses) have remarkaable intellegence...more than any other known invertabrate. Given another 200 million years, they could concievably evolve into an intellegent and coordinanted species. Unlike the segmented worms, who will probably evolve into more efficient dirt eaters.
So there, I dont feel bad about boiling the squirmy wormies.
