But they tell me I need a $200 security deposit from my credit card, which they didn't tell me before, and I did not have!

That happened to me once. A drunk driver hit me in June 2002 and totaled my car, the woman's insurance company paid for it, and offered a rental while I waited to see if it was a total loss, but when I got to the rental place they asked for a $500 deposit. Lame.

So, this week has been one of the worst in my life..! And it's only wednesday...

My car broke down monday, 5 minutes away from my first day of classes. Yesterday, after 9 hrs of phone calls and yelling, they tell me I need a whole new engine!!
