Please do not politicize this tragedy.
I have already seen this. The plain and simple fact is that the vast majority of conservatives see the government having a role in natural disaster relief. You say that Senators Cornyn and Cruz voted against relief after Katrina. If you did your research, you would see a different picture.
From David French
"In fact, the Texas ethos (properly understood), won't just endure, it will flourish. The state faced a terrible crisis, and person after person acted on his own initiative to help his neighbors in need. They didn't wait for help. They became the help, and in so doing they inspired the nation. That is exactly the kind of self reliance America needs."
We are all from Houston.
Dallas and Forth Worth have seen the effects in north Texas, untouched by the hurricane. Most of the oil refineries are in south Texas, and north Texas has already faced a severe shortage of gasoline. The rest of the nation will soon feel it.
Not such a big deal at the people of Houston and other south Texas cities return and try to put their lives back together.
If you decide to help, through the Wal-Mart site, they will donate two for one. So, if you were to donate US$20.00. Even if you can only find five American dollars on your credit card, please help.
We are all from Houston,
Except for the assholes from Charlie Hebdo. They do not deserve the honor to be from Houston, or anywhere. There are so many responses to those idiots, but they are not worth my time. They are beneath contempt.
