Mexican president Enrique Pena Nieto has replaced Ambassador Miguel Basanez Ebergenyi with Los Angeles Consul General Carlos Sada Solana. Most people missed this, but it is important. Basanez was only a place holder, and Mexico now has the man they want in DC. Basanez often talked or his Armenian heritage, so I am sure the Embassy of Islamic Republic of Turkey is happy.
Pena explained the change was due to the tension between the US and Mexico, and added that he is willing to work with the US. He did not explain this further, but the obvious issue is illegal immigration from Mexico, and the equally important issue of US currency exports to Mexico.
I continue to contend that once these issues are dealt with effectively, we can start with the comprehensive immigration reform we all know we need. I also stand by my two exceptions. Soccer players not cap tied to Mexico willing to play for the US, and pretty girls. I love Latinas.
Another move by Pena was to attempt to silence former president Vicente Fox. I believe it went something like this. "Shut up, PAN boy! Make yourself useful and whip me up some Coca-Cola, while I sing my favorite song!
I've got the PRI PRI PRI PRI down in my heart!
Down in my heart!
Down in my heart!
And if the PAN doesn't like it they can sit on a tack!
Sit on a tack!
Sit on a tack!"
I am positive it went exactly like that.
