Yes, Megan did fail her drug test. There have been some messages about this, and we express our thanks.
First, Aisha is tested within a few days after returning from vacation, and several other times a year, During her interview, they plucked some hairs, so she assumed that they would find evidence of her cocaine use. She had also spent some time in rehab. Supposedly, her records were sealed, but those rules tend to fall when the government wants to know. She had been clean for years, and remains so. Any type of drug use, even pot on vacation, would lead to her dismissal, as impressive as she is.
Megan submitted to a voluntary drug test, knowing there would still be THC in her urine. She works for a very conservative think tank, one that has railed against drug legalization, and has the statistics to back it up. This right wing think tank, however, has a decidedly libertarian and pragmatist bent. The opposition to drug legalization went from not taking marijuana into account, to decriminalization to qualified legalization.
Megan, therefore, did not even get a slap on the hand. She was just told not to put herself in the position of being arrested. She promised to be careful. She is not, though. She has walked around town smoking a joint. Only in Cabo, though, where nobody cares, or is doing the same thing.
And they say conservatives don't know to have fun.
